Journal History

Zdravniški vestnik (Slovenian Medical Journal) is a journal of the Slovenian Medical Association and Slovenian Academy of Medical Science. It is published regularly ever since 1929. Zdravniški vestnik is a multidisciplinary professional medical journal with external peer review. It is published in printed form in the circulation of 4,000 samples as well as in a web format regularly bimonthly. Each year, one or two supplements may be published as well. Zdravniški vestnik is indexed by CAB Abstracts, Scopus, Embase, DOAJ, Digitalna knjižnica Slovenije, COBISS.

Peer Review Process

Every manuscript is submitted for peer review and linguistic proofreading. After a completed editorial-, peer review- and proofreading process, the author receives the manuscript to check and approve corrections and supply a clean copy. Secrecy of the manuscript’s content is guaranteed throughout the editorial process.

Peer reviews are not paid for.

Open Access Policy

This is an open access journal which means that there are no submission or article processing charges to the authors and all content is freely available without charge to the readers or their institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.
