EVOLUTIONARY VARIABILITY OF THE EYE
Abstract
Background. The eye and vision is formed during evolution with genetic modification, environmental changes, natural selection, way of life and reproduction. Good visual ability was important in fight to survival.
Conclusions. Differences came into existence in kind of eye, cornea refraction, pupil shape, lens, size and shape of the eye, orbit position, retina, number of eyes, photoreceptors, visual pigments, neural transmission and CNS development.
