Abstract

Background. We are reporting and comparing what are the advantages of the three-dimensional in comparison with the two-dimensional ultrasound examination in prenatal diagnostics.

Conclusions. The three-dimensional ultrasound examination especially in the live form enables to evaluate beside the anatomy also the motoric activities of the fetus already in the early pregnancy.A more frequent use of this examination in the near future will present all its advantages.
