ORAL CAVITY CHANGES IN PATIENTS WITH DYSOSTOSIS CLEIDOCRANIALIS – CASE REPORT
Abstract
Background. Dysostosis cleidocranialis (DCC) is a rare systemic disease that can be classified as autosomaldominant hereditary dysplasia and presents with disease characteristical changes in mouth. These can cause severe psychological problems especially in adolescent patients.
Conclusions. Orthodontic treatment of the facial sceletal and teeth abnormalities can be problematic in patients with DCC. Therefore, interdisciplinary planned dental/orthodontic rehabilitation is vital. This article presents a rehabilitation method in female patient with DCC.
