Anaesthesic management in patients with epidermolysis bullosa
Abstract
Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) is a rare genetic disease, characterized by blistering of skin and mucous membranes following minor trauma. Scar formation as well as systemic consequences (anemia, hypoproteinemia, cardiac disorders, cancer) are the hallmarks of disease. This case report describes a 34-year-old patient with dystrophic form of EB, who required urgent surgical intervention due to arterial bleeding in the groin region. A detailed description of preoperative assessment, anaesthetic implications (monitoring, airway maintenance, general anaesthesia) as well as postoperative analgesia are discussed bellow.Downloads
