Abstract

Clinical guideline is systematically developed set of statements and assist a doctor, other health care practitioners and patients to make decisions about appropriate health care for specific clinical circumstances.

They are produced under the auspices of medical specialty associations, relevant professional societies and organizations.

The guidelines are developed by standards; they are based on a systematic review of the scientific evidence, statements are explicitly linked to the supporting evidence and graded according to the strength of that evidence.
